OHMANN, H. BIELEFELDT: Immunoglobulin levels in non-aborted and aborted fetuses from Danish herds of cattle. Acta vet. soancl. 1981, 22, 428-434. The applicability of serological tests in the diagnosis of intrauterine infections in Danish cattle was investigated. Fetuses from slaughter animals, experimentally infected and spontaneously aborted fetuses, premature and stillborn calves, were subjected to necropsy and histological studies, and to microbiological and serological examinations. The latter comprised rocket immunoelecl rophoresis and r adial immunodiffusion. In sera of the fetuses from slaughter animals, immunoglobulins were either not detectable or only present in very small quantities, whereas sera of fetuses and cahes with pathological changes and/ or verified infection contained considerable amounts of IgM and IgG. IgA was also detected in the latte r group. The results corroborate the diagnostic importance of immunoglobulin detennination in aborted fetuses and stillborn calves.

متن کاملPrevalence of Bovine Viral Diarrhoea Virus antibodies and antigen among the aborted cows in industrial dairy cattle herds in Mashhad area of Iran
The measurement of antibody responses of animals exposed to BVDV either through a natural exposure or an immunization protocol is still a standard procedure. For BVDV, the test formats have been largely limited to ELISA which is a valuable diagnostic test to measure the level of BVDV specific antibodies as well as antigen in blood samples. In the present study, 120 blood samples were collected ...
متن کاملA Study on Mycoplasma agalactiae and Chlamydophila abortus in Aborted Ovine Fetuses in Sistan and Baluchestan region, Iran

Mycoplasma agalactiae is the main etiological agent of contagious agalactia, which can cause abortion in sheep. The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of M. agalactiae and C. abortus among aborted ovine fetu...
